Main Yarra Trail

Yesss, my resolution to blog every five to six days hasn’t been broken yet.

I’ve been planning, for a while now, to post photos of areas around one of Melbourne’s main bike paths, which I recently found myself walking on. This is that entry.

Finding somewhere pretty to take photos really increases the level of enjoyability of exercise. Following the same path each time gets dull and boring, and isn’t motivating. Exploring the city, and finding new, interesting places, is.

These photos were taken along the Main Yarra Trail. Note that there are no actual photos of the Yarra River here. I did take some, but any fellow Melburnian will be able to confirm that it is not a pretty sight (it is heavily polluted).

I used to be a rower back in high school, and one day my whole crew fell into the Yarra. Definite FML moment, we were all sick after that.

@Amanda: Oh no! (It’s probably bad that I had a bit of a chuckle at that story :/ )

I love the green colour against the white bark. It’s nice when a forest isn’t too luscious, because then you only see a sea of green, whereas here you can see a lot of other shades, like white and yellow and brown.
The fact that you had fun exploring in order to take pictures is great! Success!

Exercising and taking pictures is a great idea. Though where I live the weather is so cold at this time of year that I’d rather not go outside.

I especially like your second picture of the silhouetted trees and the blue sky with white clouds. They’re all pretty nice though.

I’m always thinking, “You should take your camera with you when you go out anywhere, so you can document it, get some cool photos and have something to look back on maybe.” And then it never happens. Or I don’t need my camera when I bring it. I’ll keep trying though!

P.S. I’m not sure of the timezone, but you’re either very close to breaking or already have broken your resolution. :P

@Josh: Oh no, you caught me! If I don’t post today, I will indeed have broken it! But I guess it’s mainly an average that I want to maintain, so I’ll just have to catch up later.
